Overview
Altivox Health Solution needed a durable medical equipment (DME) storefront that could do something most healthcare sites can't: sell wheelchairs, hospital beds, and respiratory devices online without diluting the compliance a clinical business is built on. We designed and developed the site with no upfront payment — Altivox paid nothing until they'd reviewed the finished build on staging.
The Challenge
DME is not a normal e-commerce category. Several products require a prescription, insurance coverage depends on correct HCPCS coding, and patients researching a hospital bed or CPAP machine need to trust the seller before they'll trust the equipment. Altivox came to us with a strong catalog and no site built to carry that weight — no compliant intake flow, no way to signal FDA certification at the point of purchase, and no path for a patient to check insurance before checking out.
Our Solution
We ran a pre-build audit against HIPAA and FDA requirements alongside standard conversion KPIs, then designed and developed the site around both. Every product page carries its HCPCS code and Rx-required status up front. Intake and insurance-verification forms are encrypted end-to-end. Free shipping over $100 and a 260k+ patient trust signal sit directly against the buy button — reassurance exactly where hesitation happens.
How We Did It
Before touching design, we mapped HIPAA intake requirements, FDA classification needs, and HCPCS insurance coding into a single build spec, alongside standard bounce-rate and conversion targets.
Home, Shop, and Contact were fully designed in Figma and walked through with Altivox before a line of code was written, eliminating costly mid-development revisions.
Built the product catalog with per-item HCPCS codes and Rx-required flags, encrypted intake and insurance-verification forms, and a mobile-first layout that scored 95+ on Lighthouse at launch.
Set up GA4 and Hotjar tracking for the first 30 days post-launch, then delivered a CRO recommendations report focused on the shop and contact conversion paths.
"Paying nothing until we'd seen the finished build sounds too good to be true until you see the work. We reviewed the staging site and signed off within 24 hours. Every product page felt like it belonged on a hospital intake form, not a generic storefront."
