Overview
Shin Kyowa needed an admin portal that could keep pace with an automotive inventory business — vehicles, shipments, customer accounts, and finance all living in one system instead of scattered across spreadsheets and manual tracking. We designed the full UX and a dev-ready prototype, from first stakeholder interview through handoff to the development team.
The Challenge
Vehicle management for a used-car importer touches a lot of moving parts at once: stock levels, reserved vehicles, shipment tracking, customer payments, and agent activity all need to be visible without burying the admin in noise. The team was relying on disconnected tools and manual processes, which meant slower decisions and more room for data-entry error — exactly the kind of friction a dedicated admin portal is built to remove.
Our Solution
We built the portal around a single home dashboard that surfaces what an admin needs first — total receivables, customer accounts, shipment analytics, and finance status — with deeper tools (vehicles, shipment listing, document listing, agents, settings) organized in a clear left-hand navigation. Visual design used the Urbanist typeface with a clean white-and-signature-red palette to reflect the brand while keeping dense financial data readable. A notifications panel and quick-action shortcuts (add customer, view finance, view customers) were layered in to cut down on clicks during daily use.
How We Did It
Gathered requirements directly from stakeholders, researched existing inventory and workflow-management dashboards, and identified the key features and user needs the portal had to cover.
Built test-model wireframes and ran them past users for feedback, then developed the full visual design system — typography, color, and layout — and implemented client feedback into a finished design.
Built a fully interactive, dev-ready prototype of the platform, adding subtle animations to keep the interface engaging without slowing the admin down.
Handed the finished design over to the development team, stayed on to support implementation, and shipped a final iteration based on their feedback.
